Joni Thomas Moore - Marketing & Media

After more than 17 years working the corporate marketing and public relations agency scenes, Joni Moore decided it was time for her to offer companies something more - a strategic resource for focused public relations and marketing support with a personal touch. She founded Acaggio Public Relations to serve technology startups and restarts with experienced PR and marketing counsel and subject matter expertise, particularly in networking, security software and hardware, VPNs, storage software and hardware, telecommunications, and biopharma. Her clients have included; Network Engines, ISS, Network Intelligence, Covelight Systems, Security Curve, Bell Atlantic (Verizon), Linksys, ConnectNow, Onyx, Khameleon Software, ASA International, Longwatch, ADSI Technology, Microsoft, Zymark, and HTS BioSystems.

Previously, as a senior executive at Bell Atlantic Network Integration, Wang Global (now Getronics), Outlook Marketing Services and Top Layer Networks, she helped launch more than 50 products and several companies into the mainstream, taking them from the unknown to the pages of Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Wall Street Journal, the San Jose Mercury News, and Harvard Business Review and on the air with ABC, NBC, CNN, CNBC and MSNBC. Joni started her career in sales, working for one of the telecommunications industry’s global leaders, MCI. Her early experience also includes internships with top advertising and marketing agencies, including Ogilvy & Mather and Hill Holliday, where she affirmed the career path she would ultimately pursue.

Joni graduated Boston College with a BA in Communications and attended George Mason University, Executive MBA program.

Steve Boris - Creative Enlightenment

With 25 years in the design, multi-media, and product ideation industries, Steve left Robert Selame Associates in 1994, after 7 years as Creative Director, to start his own studio. With a generous donation from Safety1st's president Mike Lerner, he became a very productive and trusted, small studio that worked with clients in the US, Hong Kong, Canada and Australia.

Deciding early-on that many of the most interesting and creative projects came from the smaller under-funded companies he concentrated on taking care of the little guy. He has also been key in a few corporate re-branding projects for both small and medium corporations.

Because of his continuing commitment to making even the tightest deadlines he has become proficient in an unrivaled number design capabilities. This allows for total control of key elements without waiting on other sources that can delay deadlines.

Kristin Canders - Media

Kristin has specialized in public relations for almost ten years and currently focuses on security technology, specifically identity theft, compliance, regulation and risk management. Kristin brings strong media insight to all of her accounts from her previous experience as a journalist for print and broadcast outlets. After working on the “other side” she has the ability to create strong story ideas and sell them convincingly to media outlets. Some of her best work has been with CBS This Morning, NBC Nightly News, CNN, CNBC, Forbes, Fortune, InfoWorld, Information Week, EWeek, Network World and many verticals, especially healthcare, business, banking, legal and education.

Previously, Kristin worked as a trade show presenter at national high technology conferences and expos. Prior to that, she worked for Beaupre & Co., a Brodeur Worldwide Partner, as an account executive where she worked in the areas of speech technology, e-learning, security, telephony, and consumer technology. While in this position she cultivated valuable relationships with key technology trade editors and reporters, vertical publications, national newspapers and broadcast media. Prior to Beaupre, Kristin was Director of Public Relations for the American Lung Association where she also worked with local and national media and national politicians, including Vice President Al Gore. Kristin began her career as a producer for an NBC Affiliate where she wrote the 11:00PM news. Kristin graduated magna cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Journalism from the University of Maine.

Kurt Foeller - Media

Kurt is a 13-year veteran PR and marketing communications practitioner in the Silicon Valley. He has a mix of in-house and agency experience, serving more than 20 early- through late-stage technology in including WebLogic (BEA Systems), TIBCO, i2, Baan (Invensys), Alteon Websystems (Nortel) Network Appliance, Logitech, Evant, Allegis (Click Commerce).  

  Kurt has strong expertise in creating PR and marketing communications programs that contribute directly to product strategy and sales execution, and ultimately, the overall corporate objectives.  With strengths in journalistic writing and developing powerful relationships with key media, Kurt's clients have appeared in national, local and trade outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, CNBC News, Business Week, Forbes, Fortune, Business 2.0 and CNET.

Mara Bartucca - Messaging/Media Training

Based on 18 years in the professional services arena, Mara Bartucca has helped hundreds of companies navigate early market challenges. Most recently, Bartucca spent 11 years with Horn Group, Inc., a leading technology communications firm, where she launched the company's Boston office in 1996.  While serving as a partner in the agency, Bartucca drove PR and marketing strategy for hundreds of emerging growth companies. She also provided strategic counsel to well-known market leaders including Cognos, Harte-Hanks, Netegrity, PeopleSoft, and Sophos among others. Bartucca also worked with best-selling business book authors-- Geoffrey Moore for Crossing the Chasm and Inside the Tornado as well as Patricia Seybold for Customers.com and The Customer Revolution-- to elevate each to a position of thought leader in the business sector.

Roger Horine - Writing

Roger has more than a decade of experience in advertising, marketing, and public relations planning, writing, and editing with a specialty in technology – particularly network infrastructure, network security, data storage, and laboratory equipment.

Most of his recent work has been creating web copy, brochures, data sheets, white papers, case studies, webcasts, sales presentations, direct mail, and print ads with additional work on press releases, video scripts, and corporate branding.

Horine is a seasoned marketing executive who has successfully led branding initiatives and worldwide marketing campaigns including sales management.  In his early years, he sold minicomputers and consulting services to OEM customers of Digital Equipment Corporation and to major systems integrators for Compaq.  He helped establish the branding for the StorageWorks line of modular data storage products, now the world's top-selling storage technology from HP.  And before Oracle took over Digital's video server technology, he helped double the company's share of the interactive video equipment market from 30 to 60 percent by staging impressive and effective tradeshows paired with tenacious PR and analyst relations.

Ed Moyle - Security Expert

Ed is currently a Manager with CTG's Information Security Solutions practice, providing strategy, consulting, and solutions to clients worldwide as well as a founding partner of Security Curve. Ed Moyle provides acaggio accounts with product testing, competitive analysis as well as technical writing.

Prior to joining Security Curve, Ed was Vice President and Information Security Officer for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM,) where he was responsible for coordinating all aspects of information security within the business unit. MLIM consists of approximately 2500 employees with over US $500 billion in assets under management. During his tenure at Merrill, Ed also developed firm-wide cryptographic solutions for secure data transfer, secure key management, authentication, and data integrity.

Before joining Merrill, Ed worked within the federal sector for Computer Science Corporation (CSC,) where he consulted to the Department of Defense JCALS (Joint Service Computer Aided Acquisition and Logistics System) program. Ed was responsible for security engineering activities, including platform security, security evaluation activities, and vendor evaluation/deployment activities (e.g. Symantec ESM, vFind, SSH, etc.) Ed was lead developer and manager of R&D at ICT (International Creative Technologies,) where he oversaw all development activities of CyberSignOn™, a biometric single-signon and secure data storage platform. Ed was responsible for all aspects of product design, product development, organization/staffing of all technical teams, and development of product technical strategy.

At Trintech Systems, Ed managed all security activities involving the PayWare™ mAccess product. Ed was responsible for analysis of industry security trends, planning/strategy for application security initiatives, information security governance activities (specifically, refinement of the application security review process,) and gathering of critical marketing/business intelligence.

Ed is co-author of "Cryptographic Libraries for Developers", and a frequent contributor to the Information Security industry as author, public speaker, and analyst.
